The Center for Sexual Assault Survivors announces the appointment of five new board members to its Board of Directors.
Charlene Johnson, Board President, announced, "The Center's Board of Directors would like to extend a warm and inclusive welcome to our newly appointed board members. This diverse group of individuals brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and commitment to our burgeoning team." We are honored to welcome the following:
Russel Tinsley, former Newport News Police Dept. Human Trafficking Detective, currently the founder and owner of Oozlefinch Beers & Blending in Hampton;
Christina E. James, local attorney and the current president of the Greater Peninsula Women's Bar Association, notable "Top Supporter" of 2019 WITS;
Myra Smith-Jones, documentarian, producer, storyteller, book author, singer, and the owner and operator of Heartwork Performing Arts Academy in Newport News;
Matthew Finley, local attorney and owner of Hampton Injury Law;
Anika Virgin, Director of York Poquoson Victim Witness.
"The Center for Sexual Assault Survivors would like to welcome the new members to the Board of Directors Team," added Xiomara Harris, Executive Director. "They join an established group of individuals composed of diverse philosophies, backgrounds, and expertise with a desire and commitment to end sexual violence. We welcome them and look forward to growing together to continue to advocate, empower, and educate our community."
